Artist Statement

I am a self-taught Irish-Scottish artist who works with relief printmaking and digital art. Inspired by my love of wildlife and plants, I use my memory, imagination and intuition to create highly stylised designs of the natural world. I love to use bold lines and vibrant, saturated colour palettes in my work. I am currently working on ‘WiLD ALBA’, a collection of reduction linocut prints illustrating Scotland’s most iconic, and elusive, wildlife. Previously a doctor, I returned to my creative roots in 2024 in search of greater connection and alignment to my authentic self. I have recently returned to live and practice in my birthplace of Edinburgh, where I sell and exhibit my artwork through my creative business ‘Sinéad Plant Design’.
